Location: St. Eustatius, Dutch Caribbean (Sint Eustatius National Parks Foundation)

Period: Starting June / July 2024. Minimum 2 months, maximum 6 months.

STENAPA is mandated by the National Government to manage the National Parks of St. Eustatius. The Marine Department is seeking a total of 1 project volunteer and 2 general volunteers to assist them in their task of managing the National Marine Park.

General tasks of a Marine Park volunteer are:
  • Assist on projects such as annual GCRMN coral reef surveys, monitoring surveys, sea-turtle conservation project (nesting season), Diadema antillarum restoration, invasive lionfish control, beach mapping and much more.
  • Assist in maintenance of dive site moorings, the patrol boat Blue Runner, etc.
  • Assist in outreach and nature education activities
  • Assist the Terrestrial Department when necessary
Candidates must:
  • Be nationals from the Netherlands or the United States of America (due to immigration reasons)
  • Have SCUBA Certification minimum of PADI Advanced or equivalent
  • Obtain DAN sport silver dive insurance
  • Be comfortable with diving 4 days a week
  • Aged 18+
