About Stenapa
We are the St. Eustatius National Parks Foundation, also known as STENAPA. We manage three protected areas and a botanical garden on the island of St. Eustatius (Statia).
The St. Eustatius Island Government identified 33km² of land and sea to be protected under law in order to preserve nature on Statia. We are mandated to manage and maintain this area for the benefit of the community. We work every day to protect the fragile tropical ecosystems and endangered species found on St. Eustatius.
Mission and Vision
Mission
STENAPA is dedicated to manage, conserve and restore St. Eustatius’ natural resources and educate the community of its values. To sustain and improve the value and benefits of the natural resources and the ecosystem services it provides so that socioeconomic, political and cultural needs of current and future generations can be met.
Vision
Nature is recognized and treasured as an important resource and its monetary and intrinsic values are taken into account in the sustainable development of St Eustatius.
