Hurricane Dorian could not stop our contribution to the International Coastal Clean up effort. The data taken from this worldwide collective effort is invaluable in the fight against ocean pollution.

STENAPA removed waste from the Zeelandia Beach and underwater in the Statia Harbour – from Baby Beach to the Jetti. Almost 60 kg of waste was documented and removed from Zeelandia Beach. Most of the garbage removed by our divers was found at Baby Beach and at the Jetti, including tyres and metal.

Thank you St. Eustatius Center for Archaeological Research for joining STENAPA for the 2019’s International Coastal Cleanup! We appreciate your help removing these tyres and the other waste removed from the harbour.

Hopefully, soon we will have no waste to clean up. Until then, feel free to join us when we have a clean up event!
